Having the Oculus Rift means you get a lot of people asking you “what’s it like being in VR?” and while I love describing the experience nothing beats letting people try it out for themselves & seeing/hearing them get excited and respond to the level of immersion unlike anything computer-generated they’ve encountered to date. No, Avatar in 3D doesn’t even come close. Not even a little bit.
So I brought the thing in the office for some after-hours fun and I looooooooooooved the social/shared experience so much – multiple headsets would’ve been even better but hey, gotta start somewhere and at lest the Rift is slightly more portable to transport relative to the HTC Vive (based on what goes in the “hardware installation” of each).
